Terms of service

These terms apply to the use of Botpany, a service of vanrossum.dev ("we"). By creating an account or using Botpany, you agree to them. If you use Botpany for an organisation, you agree on behalf of that organisation.

The service

Botpany is a workspace where teams chat with AI bots. Bots can use the tools a team connects, such as analytics, documents, and email marketing, and can create pages, routines, images, and audio. We may improve and change features over time.

Accounts and teams

• You need an account to use Botpany. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else uses your account.
• The owner of a team is responsible for its members, its connected tools, and its billing.
• You must be at least 16 years old, and you must give correct information.

Trial, subscription, and payment

• A new team gets a free trial of 14 days, for up to 10 people. Each person gets one free trial, with the first team they create.
• After the trial, a team pays per person: $30 per month, or $300 per year. Each member of the team is a seat. When people join or leave, the number of seats changes, and the difference is settled on the next invoice.
• Payments are handled by our payment processor, which also adds the VAT or sales tax that applies.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until they are cancelled. You can cancel at any time; the subscription then ends at the end of the paid period.
• We tell account owners at least 30 days before a price change takes effect.

AI use

• AI is included. Each person has a weekly AI budget for fair use. A team can buy credits so that people the team allows can use more. Credits do not expire and are not refundable.
• AI can make mistakes. Check important answers, figures, and actions before you rely on them. Botpany does not give legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
• Bots only change data in connected tools when the team allows it, and changes that need confirmation only happen after a person confirms them. You are responsible for actions you confirm.

Refunds

Payments for subscriptions and credits are not refunded, except where the law requires it or when we decide to in a specific case. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights apply.

Acceptable use

You may not use Botpany to:

• break the law or the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights,
• create or share illegal, harmful, or misleading content,
• pretend to be another person or organisation,
• get access to accounts, data, or systems without permission,
• interfere with the service, or use it to send spam or malware,
• copy, resell, or reverse engineer the service.

We may suspend accounts or teams that break these rules.

Your content

You keep all rights to the content you and your team put into Botpany and to what the bots create for you. You give us permission to process that content only to provide the service. Botpany itself, its software, and its brand belong to us.

Liability

We provide Botpany "as is" and do our best to keep it available and secure, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event. This does not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

Termination

You can stop using Botpany at any time by cancelling the subscription and deleting your team or account. We may end or suspend access when these terms are broken or when payment fails. After termination, we delete the team's data as described in our privacy policy.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to a court in your own country. EU consumers can also use the EU online dispute resolution platform.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We tell account owners by email at least 30 days before important changes take effect. If you keep using Botpany after that, the new terms apply.
